My name is Viktor T. Toth. I am an independent information technology professional and physicist with decades of experience, including experience in both symbolic AI and machine learning. Below, I offer a brief summary of my work in these fields.

This Web site, WISPL.COM, showcases my work in the field of artificial intelligence. The solutions, services and products that are presented on these pages are of my own creation, unless indicated otherwise.

Background

I first became familiar with the very basics of machine learning, early neural networks (perceptrons) in the 1970s when I was still of school age. At the time, the concepts seemed premature, academic toy exercises, not practical tools.

Decades later, I studied rules-based AI systems, specifically so-called expert systems. In particular, I studied one of the early expert systems, Guru, a long forgotten product of a company called MDBS.

In the early 2000s, on account of my studies of gravitational physics, I became interested in Maxima, the open-source descendant of the world's first general purpose computer algebra system, MACSYMA. As a result of my work rebuilding the tensor algebra and calculus modulse of Maxima, I was invited as a volunteer developer and have been a project participant ever since.

More recently, I embarked on a range of projects that helped me develop skills-level expertise in important machine learning areas. The results, which are featured on these pages, I hope speak for themselves: they include a deployable imeplementation of a fully "on-prem" RAG (retrieval augmented generation) system, my multi-LLM chatbot, and my research involving emergency room medical data.
